Sad but true, the book tells us so little about the relationship between Thorin and his nephew. the only explanation we could find about Fili and Kili's defending Thorin to their death is refer to the special relationship between maternal uncle and nephew in early Anglo-Saxon culture :confused:
But I'm a fan! I got needs too! so I believe that somehow, they had a good moments behind~ such as this.
..also it is a good reason to draw a smiling Thorin :lol:

it's fantstic picture!! LOVE smiling Thorin!:) and I think the 'movie Company' fight for every single member and when it comes to Thorin not only Fili and Kili would defend him to their deaths-what about Dwalin for example...

I was so sad when I found out they died. :( A wonderful piece though. I love your use of color and the birds and grass silhouette add so much to the picture. Thorin's pose and expression is priceless.

Love the bittersweet feeling in this. ♥ The rich colors of the sky and the contrast which the dark ground makes alongside it adds to the intensity.... Besides family bonds are my weak spot. >///< Beautiful work!
