I'm sorry for this Hobbit spam, but this would be the last, I promise! I just want to continue a bit from the last scene of the unexpected journey, before they get to Beorn ~ maybe they rest and Gandalf starts talking about plans.
I referenced the scenery from old NatGeo mag, I cant get my mountains to look realistic though *w* maybe that's just not my style. But this series sure teach me how to draw mountains.
This is really beautifully done, I love how the sky and mountains colour shades all blend in and we see the tip of the wizard's hat poking up from below as he sits in the group, well done on this piece!
Great piece here. I love the purple hue. SPOILER ALERT: Do not read if you have not seen Desolation of Smaug. SPOILER ALERT: You have been warned. FINAL SPOILER ALERT: Do not read past this. SPOILER: I really wish Beorn had had a larger part in the film. I am glad that he did at least have a part, unlike Bombadil, the Barrow Wight, The Grey Company (Rangers), Beregond and many others in the LOTR films. However, this is a single book split into 3 movies, so if he hadn't had a part then there would have been hell to pay. We'll see a lot more of him in the Battle of Five Armies in the next film it is to be hoped. Many parts of this film were compressed and others expanded generously, and generally for the better, but still there's ever room to gripe. Sorry for not giving your painting the proper critique it deserves. I just saw the film and am kind of high on it at the moment. Please forgive me.
This is amazing! I've just started looking at some of your artwork and it's among the most inspiring pieces I've seen on DA. In my opinion the LotR bit suits this picture perfectly Definitely faving this
